Description

The Verisa/Demio Platform Engineering

The Mazda Verisa is built on the Mazda D-platform, known for its compact but rigid suspension. The wheel hub is a unitized component, meaning the bearing is integrated into the hub housing. An Ex-Japan original is often a safer choice than a brand-new “budget” aftermarket part because of its superior metallurgy and tighter manufacturing tolerances.

The “Ex-Japan” Quality Standard

  • Electronic Reliability: The Verisa is equipped with an integrated ABS magnetic encoder inside the hub. Aftermarket units often have signal “jitter” that triggers an ABS warning light. Ex-Japan units use the original NTN or Koyo encoders, ensuring your safety electronics work exactly as Mazda intended.

  • High-Carbon Steel: These hubs are forged to withstand the “pitting” and “galling” that cause that annoying rhythmic humming or growling sound (usually heard above 40 km/h).

  • Sealed for Life: The internal bearings are packed with high-viscosity Japanese grease and protected by multi-lip rubber seals, making them highly resistant to the fine dust and tropical rains of Kenya.

Performance & Maintenance

  1. Silent Ride: Replacing a worn hub with this genuine unit removes the “droning” noise that can make a long drive exhausting.

  2. Fuel Efficiency: A seized or friction-heavy bearing forces the engine to work harder. A smooth-rolling hub reduces “rotational drag,” helping you maintain the Verisa’s excellent fuel economy.

  3. Tire Protection: A loose hub creates “wheel play,” which causes your tires to wear out unevenly on the edges. This unit ensures your wheels stay perfectly aligned.
